Microsoft Windows ME....error with mmtask.tsk, kernel32.dll and Explorer.exe?

This computer has been out of the shop since mid June and now this... did a Dr. Watson scan on it and found the following......





DIAGNOSIS:


Win32 Kernel core component attempted to read from memory that does not exist. It may be using an unitialized variable, or it may be attempting to access memory after having freed it.

If taskbar is behaving strangely, try exiting Multimedia background task support module.

Can Windows ME be reinstalled or can the above be corrected, if so, how???

i think is because your system is corrupted
