Will I like being an Architect?

I'm a college freshman and right now im taking general studies courses this summer before i enter into my major (Architecture) in the fall. Since I was young i have always like to design and build stuff out of random household objects. Last summer i took a wood working class at the local college and designed and built my own furniture. Last fall my parents took me to the school I am at now where i met with a couple of professors. One profeesor told me that when she and her collegue were In school (they went here too) they pent many nights in the studio working on their drawings which wasn't too bad b/c they managed to have some fun. I'm the kind of person who looks forward to doing design drawings, so thats not going to be much of a problem. But i 'm not the greatest artist in the world, and i feel that counts against me.





so based on what i've told you, do you think i'll like arch.?

archuitecture is not just drawing, in fact drawing is just the final stage of "to be an architect"


Architects have 1 powerful tool: imagination.


Architects work with an imaginary space before it can be drawn, they imagine the space they are going to design and then they draw it. Nowadays you can focus your skills into something like architectural drafting.


I am an architect..and I LOVE IT, since i was a kid i remember imagining things..machines,. places.. and i draw them too. I remember playing HOURS with lego,


I suggest you to visit some architect's office and see their work.,,,it is an amazing career, forget abotu the money.. and see it this way: u are working with something that borns in your imagination, rises in your drawing and finally (and luckily) will come out to reality as a building!
Reply:you can pick which ever you like. Architect is a little more difficult, but if you are more comfortable with Architect that's your choice.
