Premature Births x 2 will it happen again?

Hi I am 27 wks and i am expecting my 3rd baby in March, however my first daughter was born at 33weeks (spontanious labour) and in breech via c-section and my second was born at 36 weeks breech and spontanious labour via c- section. I had gone into labour at 32 weeks with my second but they managed to stop the contractions with blood pressure medication. What are the odds that this will happen again? And what can you recommend to prevent this?

Premature Births x 2 will it happen again?
Katy

my daughter was born at 32 weeks. I went into labor at 30 weeks. I was put on hospital bed rest and given an IV. I am 25 weeks and yes it is defiantly a high risk pregnancy. My daughters visiting nurse told me the best indication that you will give birth early is if you had previously. My OBGYN plans for me to be on strict bed rest by 28 weeks. That falls on Christmas day... You should defiantly be monitored closely. I also recieve a weekly progestrone shot. Are they doing anything special like that for you? Visit the March of Dimes Share site. You will find all the support and answers you need there...

Good Luck

Edit: Go to that site. There are plenty of positive stories from moms that carried full term or very close after having preterm labor. As far as bed rest, would your insurance company consider paying for a home aid for a few months. In the long run it is less expensive than having a baby in the NICU. I am sure you can get a Dr's note saying it is medically nessasary!!! Just a thought. I was considering it for myself as I have a 3 year old. Then something else opened up for us... Good Luck. There is hope but you HAVE to find a way to take it easy!!!
Reply:You are definitely at higher risk for preterm labor given your history. There is really nothing you can do to prevent it from happening if it's going to happen. Surely your doctor gave you instructions for limiting activity or bedrest if they were concerned.

Good luck to you.
Reply:Your odds are high and I understand your concerns. All 4 of my Aunt's children were premature. No cause was identified. My scrapbooking friend had 2 premature children. Her uterine lining wasn't thick enough apparently. Complete bed rest the 2nd time around kept her second child in much longer so he only came 4 weeks early.

As far as prevention, I guess I would consult with a specialist to find out if there is anything YOU can do. For instance, if infection is the cause, can you take antibiotics to prevent early labor. Can you consider a terbutiline pump (used often by moms-to-be-of-multiples) to prevent contractions. Is this baby breech? If not, maybe it won't be a problem?
Reply:It might can happen again but then again it might not just keep doing what you doing, making sure that you're taking care of yourself and your child. I'm 22 and I had my 1st full term then I had a set of twins who were born at 36 weeks and then my second set of twins were born 36 weeks almost 37. But you will never know, it all depends on the baby

Good Luck I hope that you do manage to carry this one full terms

What's the chance for this team to win a default yahoo head-to-head league?

My fantasy team starts the season 8-9-3 after the first two weeks---by far the worst start of all yahoo head-to-head fantasy hockey teams that I have ever managed. The following players are on my team:

Martin Brodeur G

Jean-Sebastien Giguere G

Martin Gerber G

Sergei Gonchar D

Philippe Boucher D

Dion Phaneuf D

Andrej Meszaros D

Alexander Semin LW

Erik Cole LW

Daniel Carcillo LW

Patrice Bergeron C

Daymond Langkow C

Mike Modano C

Jason Pominville RW

Mike Knuble RW

David Vyborny RW

What are the problems with this team? How should I improve it (add/drop or trade)? If this roster is being intact for the whole season, what's the chance for this team winning a championship trophy in a yahoo head-to-head league?

Please advice. I need to win.

What's the chance for this team to win a default yahoo head-to-head league?
How many players are in your league? Your defense outshines your offense - you might shop around there. It's really difficult to give advice on which players to drop/add without knowing what players are available to claim off waivers/FA. Can you give a partial list of the players still available to take?

Downgrade Vista to XP; Acer Aspire 5315?

For christmas i had a new laptop (Acer Aspire 5315), preinstalled with Windows Vista Home Basic. I managed to fix a few problems but others i need help with such as my so called "out-of-date" drivers and software that just won't run in vista.

By default i have two harddrives, C: and D:. I partitioned C: and created a new B: volume which is empty ATM. I want to install Windows XP (have a CD) onto B: partition but i have problems which i just can't seem to fix.

1) I've put the CD in, reboot but the system boots from the OS not CDROM.

2) I changed the boot order to see if this would prevent problem #1 and set CDROM to the top. Still no luck, the OS boots again.

The CD isn't scratched or damaged, it's quite clean.

Anyone have any suggestions? I just can't seem to solve it and it's beginning to agrivate me.

Win XP Installation Problem?

I have just reinstalled WinXP Home on a custom built PC bought from a local shop.

I went for a full install with the intention of totally formatting the C:\ with a fresh install. I have followed all the neccesary options to do this.

When I log on however it is though I am a new user but when I go to the C:\ via Win Explorer all the old folders are still there and under user profiles/doc settings the old user name is there also.

I need to format this and reinstall fresh which I managed no problem on an identical PC. When I am doing the rebuild I try and do it on C:\ this is the only partition other and a small partition.

Please help!

Reply:sounds like you are going off the options that the XP install disk offers.

use safe mode and boot into command prompt only.

format c: from here.

if you have a win98 boot floppy that will run, use fdisk to fully delete the partition, then redo the partition (or 2) it will format fully.

then boot up after setting it to boot from cd.

will get a clean install then.
Reply:Start over. Put the install CD in the drive. Boot. When you get to disk partitioning, drop the primary partition. Once that is done, re-create it. Format it. Now, install.
Reply:i agree with "Kokopell…", delete the partition and then re create a new one, Windows Xp will automatically format the partition before resuming installation.
Reply:format the disc but this time all of it you put windows on a new part last time so format it again all of it and then reinstall windows

1. Set windows boot sequence to have CDROM to boot first at DOS (set in BIOS)

2. Shut down with Windows XP in CDROM

3. Restart (Watch screen for “ Press any to boot from CD” pay attention you only have 10 seconds)

4. Let CD run

5. “Windows setup screen” Press “Enter” to continue. DO NOT press “R” for repair or “F3” for quit.

6. “Windows Licensing Agreement” Screen – Select F8 to agree

7. Installation Screen Press “ESC” for don’t repair

8. Delete Partition screen – delete all existing partitions,

Keep in mind that after formatting, Windows setup will automatically begin. (Let CD run)

Creating a second partion may be a good idea. If you ever have to reformat or reload the OS, you will not have to worry about your data. As long as you save your files to the second partition.

Long Jump Training?

This is my second year participating in the Long Jump and i've only managed to muster out a 17'.2'' because of poor training, well technically b/c of a shortage of coaches and long jump pit, I believe I've only had 4 practices in 2 years for long jump. Does anybody have any tips and or training i can do without actually having a sandpit?

Long Jump Training?
ok 17 feet that amazing i conly only jump friggin 12! then again I am 13..... anyways what In used to do was get chalk ot tape (masking) and make a starting point and a jumping point. I would run an djump as far as i could and tried to keep one of my feet wher I landed then I would measure the distance and then aventually I learned how to pick up speed and I eventually made it to 12 feet.

Why is he doing this 2 me?

4 the past 2yrs ive been with a man who has emotionally %26amp; mentally abused me. he managed to make me believe i was always wrong %26amp; that every arguement was always my fault. if i ever managed 2 tell him it was his fault, he wud start crying %26amp; blame it on irrelivant things. he told me i was mental %26amp; stupid %26amp; even managed to make me believe it. once he convinced me that it was my fault he beat me up because i had slapped him 4 spitting in my face. he constantly feels sory 4 himself, makes up lies %26amp; puts on a baby voice to make others feel sory 4 him. finaly i hav left him but i am 5 months pregnant.

he has told me that he slept with my best friend which i cant c as she hates him %26amp; has never had the chance to. he has told me im skinny %26amp; useles %26amp; wont get anyone else. he is also stealing cheques from my post %26amp; spreading lies 2 all who i no in order to gain their sympathy %26amp; make every1 hate me. evry1 i no even his mates have sed im 2 gud 4 him %26amp; shud leave. hes ruinin me. wat shud i do??

Why is he doing this 2 me?
Sounds like you already know what you should do. Leave and a few prayers may help too. Good Luck
Reply:ruin his life make sure he never 4gets it and try doing something with ur post if u can change it so he cant actually get it and dont make him let u feel bad ur a proud independent woman so dont fall for anything he says
Reply:Aw, hun, WELL DONE for coming to terms with the fact that he is a violent man, who is worthless, and does not deserve you. DO NOT believe his lies, you will find someone else, I am pretty sure that guys would fall head over heels when they see the confident, radiant, gorgeous new you. It is GREAT that you left him!!!

Spend some time with your girlfriends, shopping, get a makeover spa day, they're endless!

As for the baby- DO NOT ABORT IT! Unless you think you would not be fit for a mother, don't abort it, that child has a chance to live, and grow up into a great person, because you will bring it up the right way!

Please do not go back to this man. I'm begging you!

Try and move out somewhere, like to your parents, or somewhere completely new. You will make new friends too! But only do this if you have the money...

A fresh start

I hope this helped. It will all work out. Good Luck!

Reply:You can't worry about what he's doing to you anymore. You have to worry about what you can do for the child inside of you. You must set aside his petty cry for help from others, and start thinking about a new and better life for your child. The truth comes out sooner or later. When he is lying, he'll only be caught webbed in his own lies. So let his words pass you and ignore it This is only his way of trying to get to you and getting your attention, negatively! What you need to do is ignore him...and eventually...he'll stop. Just do what is best for you and the baby right now. That is the only way to go.
Reply:Pack your bags and hit the road, you've got one baby to worry about. You don't need him one bit.
Reply:Stay far away from him. He sounds like he's got deep rooted issues that extend further than your relationship. i'm sorry you have to deal with this. Just please stay away for not only your sake but your unborn child. Maybe a restraining order...but dont let his petty immature childish BIPOLAR games get to you. Its not worth it. Best of luck.

Am I on the brink of adulthood?

I was never the type of girl that acted her age. For someone's who's 21, I've accomplished alot compared to kids my age. I've managed to get my associate's degree, work.volunteer experience, and just got into my nursing major :) Getting into my major was something I KNEW i had to accomplish and nursing is something i've always been passionate about. I've sacrificed the heavy norm social life, limited myself w. pressures, have had my values challenged and gave up someone i love dearly. (thats another story).

I knew nursing school would be the hardest thing/work I'll ever do in my life. I'm aware of the increasing sacrifices I would have to make. Just as long as I have that one day to relax, I'm fine. It's not easy but I don't complain and i'm loving every minute of it no matter how hard it gets. I've been so emotionally drained lately and I don't know why. Many of my colleagues are 2nd career people who have experienced life, whereas I'm a enthusiastic puppy ready to conquer and provide care for patients. Compared to them, I haven't experienced life yet. My colleague told me the reason why I've been feeling this way is b/c I'm CHANGING and starting to experience life in my own way and becoming to be an adult. I'm constantly asking myself question of why/how i get here. I look at my friends and think i'm weird b/c iI have different priorities. My definition of happiness is spending good quality time w. family and CLOSE friends, not clubbing/drinking. My definition of love is someone who unconditionally loves/supports you and I would be willing to wait for something true than date a guy who is sweet to me. I'm disappointed at my friend (who's also made it in) b/c i FEEL that she doesn't understand the importance of this. She's like those typical 21 yr olds that STILL think they can balance nursing AND a social life. When you're an adult and given an opportunity like this, you don't take it for granted. I'm in a class of people who don't care if they have a social life, they're happy that they're in and i feel the same way. Unlike, "aww i don't go out anymore and have fun booo hooo" - suck it up, you're an adult and thats what life is. You made a choice when you decided you want to be a nurse.

WHY AM I FEELING THIS WAY? Help...i'm a confused 21 yr old kid.

Am I on the brink of adulthood?
sounds like you have your priorities straigt and your life in line. which is great! not many ppl your age can do that, but its great that you can! As for your friend....well, she will have to decide which is more important to her....she can't party all night and be ready to work the next day. Just do your job don't worry about her......time will show who will sink and who will swim.
Reply:um, ok, if you are happy with where you are now what's the problem? You don't have to be "like others". Happiness may not mean the same thing to one person compared to another. I mean, I understand other kids your age will be all annoying asking you to do things u don't want to. Just say no then. They are just people who have different views than yours, no need to complain why they do this or that. I know young doctors who are still able to balance a social life...I don't know how they do it but once, a doctor told me, every 5 free minutes he gets, he will make sure he uses it as a break, get a drink or something (not at work of course). My best friend is taking higher studies in pharmacy...I believe she has a double degree, and used to date guys. People have different ways of handling "life" at the moment. You have your way, others have theirs. Don't be confused. You have a bright future, you aren't doing anything wrong, cos you're doing what u want. Keep it up!

Will i ever get back into college after being academically dismissed?

I was Academically dismissed in the fall of 2006 from a suny school. In order for me to petition for re entry i had to attend a community college and pass to classes with a c or better.

I went to a community college in the spring of 2007.

I took 3 classes. I got a C+, B- and a D.

I was suppose to pass 2 classes with a C or better to get accepted back into the school. So i petitioned and didn't get accepted.

EVER SINCE then i've taken 11 classes in 2 semester. withdrew out of 9 failed 2 and passed 1 with a B+.

Let me explain why. I withdrew this semester because I've been working to pay bills. and the reason why i failed 2 classes because i've been working yet i managed to pass 1 class with a B+ i guess that was the only class which i attended and actually concentrated in.

I'm trying to go back to the SUNY i came from but i'm scared they might look at all the classes I withdrew and seen that I failed 2 classes and only passed 4. I just want to go back.

Will i ever get back into college after being academically dismissed?
Unfortunately your record doesn't look very good, and that is probably why the university doesn't want to take a risk on having you as a student again. If you don't pass classes at community college, they can't understand how you would pass classes there either.

Instead of trying to get "back in" you should concentrate on how to do well in every class you take. Stop signing up for classes you can't handle, and study, study, study for the ones you are taking. When your record looks like you actually "catch" how to be a student, you should have no problem getting back into the school you want in.
Reply:You need to do something to redeem it.
Reply:Yes, it is possible to go back to college after being academically dismissed. However, you might want to re-evaluate your priorities first. Although this sounds harsh, it's something to think about. Are you ready to recommit yourself to your education? In this day and age, how can anyone go to school without working? I totally understand. I worked the entire time I was in college too.

Here's something to consider. Go to a Community College (CC). Retake the courses that you failed. Going to a CC is much more affordable. Start out slow. Just take one or two classes at most. Slowly get yourself back into the routine of studying. Make sure you work with an adviser to ensure that you are taking the right courses to fulfill your General Education requirements for your SUNY degree program. Sometimes universities readmit students after they have earned an Associates degree. Check with an adviser at the SUNY school about their readmission policies.

It sounds like you may have been taking on more than you should. 11 classes in 2 semesters? That sounds like a bit much. Too many "W's" (withdrawals grades) don't always look too favorable on your transcript.

As for financial aid, you probably won't qualify for it if your GPA isn't to their minimum standards. My fear is that if you are awarded financial aid and you don't pass your courses, you'll be wasting your aid and possibly you will be repaying loans on courses you failed. That sounds like a vicious cycle to get trapped into.

I have witnessed many success stories from former dismissed students. Don't give up. You can do this. Just start out slowly and truly recommit yourself to school.

Best wishes!
Reply:Make an appointment with a counselor there. You need a face to face interview with someone at SUNY. Come prepared for that meeting. On paper I would not accept you back. Reasons for doing poorly in class, withdrawing from class and requesting incomplete's are very frequently due to a student saying "they are working". The flip side of the coin is that there are hundreds of students working full-time, raising a family AND doing well in school.

If the World was so Safe before Bush took Office,How do you Explain this List???????

American Victims of Mideast Terrorist Attacks

--------------------------------------...

The following is a listing of incidents in which Americans are known to have been killed by Middle East-based terrorists. The list will be updated as more information becomes available. The exact number of American casualties is difficult to calculate because of incomplete news reports regarding numbers and nationalities of those injured. The toll from the September 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center is also uncertain, but current figures place the number of dead above 3,000. The number of dead at the Pentagon and on the hijacked airliners numbered approximately 385. Since Yasser Arafat "renounced" violence in the Oslo Peace Accords on September 13, 1993, at least 53 Americans have been murdered and at least another 83 Americans have been injured by Palestinian terrorism. Excluding the September 11 attacks, approximately 700 Americans have been killed and 1,600 wounded in terrorist attacks since 1970. This list also includes injured Americans since Oslo 1993.

--------------------------------------...

February 23, 1970, Halhoul, West Bank. Palestinian Liberation Organization terrorists open fire on a busload of pilgrims killing Barbara Ertle of Michigan and wounding two other Americans.

March 28-29, 1970, Beirut, Lebanon. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) fired seven rockets at the U.S. Embassy, the American Insurance Company, Bank of America and the John F. Kennedy library.

September 14, 1970, En route to Amman, Jordan. The PFLP hijacked a TWA flight from Zurich, Switzerland and forced it to land in Amman. Four American citizens were injured.

May 30, 1972, Ben Gurion Airport, Israel. Three members of the Japanese Red Army, acting on the PFLP's bbehalf, carried out a machine-gun and grenade attack at Israel's main airport, killing 26 and wounding 78 people. Many of the casualties were American citizens, mostly from Puerto Rico.

September 5, 1972, Munich, Germany. During the Olympic Games in Munich, Black September, a front for Fatah, took hostage 11 members of the Israeli Olympic team. Nine athletes were killed including weightlifter David Berger, an American-Israeli from Cleveland, Ohio.

March 2, 1973, Khartoum, Sudan. Cleo A. Noel, Jr., U.S. ambassador to Sudan, and George C. Moore, also a U.S. diplomat, were held hostage and then killed by terrorists at the U.S. Embassy in Khartoum. It seems likely that Fatah was responsible for the attack.

September 8, 1974, Athens, Greece. TWA Flight 841, flying from Tel Aviv to New York, made a scheduled stop in Athens. Shortly after takeoff, it crashed into the Ionian Sea and all 88 passengers were killed, including 32-year-old Steven R. Lowe, husband Jeremiah Michel and wife, Kathrine Hadley Michel of Poughkeepsie, NY, Frederick and Margaret Hare of Bernardsville, NJ, Ralph H. Bosh of Madison, CT, Seldon and Etan Bard of Tuckahoe, NY, Dr. and Mrs. Frederick Stohlman of Newton, MA, Don H. Holiday of Mahwah, NJ, and Jon L. Chesire of Old Lyme, Ct; all of which were Almerican citizens. An investigation of the crash conclusively established that it was caused by explosives set in the rear cargo department of the plane.

June 29, 1975, Beirut, Lebanon. The PFLP kidnapped the U.S. military attaché to Lebanon, Ernest Morgan, and demanded food, clothing and building materials for indigent residents living near Beirut harbor. The American diplomat was released after an anonymous benefactor provided food to the neighborhood.

November 14, 1975, Jerusalem, Israel. Lola Nunberg, 53, of New York, was injured during a bombing attack in downtown Jerusalem. Fatah claimed responsibility for the bombing, which killed six people and wounded 38.

If the World was so Safe before Bush took Office,How do you Explain this List???????
If it doesn't give aid and comfort to the enemy -the far left is not interested . If the blood being shed is the enemy -then the world is not safe according to liberals .Where was the outrage in the drive-by media %26amp; the other libs when Nick Berg was so brutally beheaded ? They were saving it for AbuGhrabbe .
Reply:Thanks for reminding us of facts! I 'm sending this to my deluded friends who hate President so much. I believe that while he's in office, we don't stand a chance of another terrorist attack on our shores. After he leaves office, my confidence will most likely not be so great... Report It

Reply:Its actually a plain simple message... The Mid East just cant be a civilized people If your American, stay out of that area, and let them all kill eachother. Report It

Reply:The world was and will be a horrible place. GWB didnt cause all this, it was already there. People (dems) havent opened their eyes to all of this. Not even yet. Report It

Reply:the world has never been safe at one time, we thought the world would end when WW2 was going on , before that it was with another country,

So open thy eyes and see and read what has really been going on. We can not blame Bush for this , as all presidents, he is doing what the Americana people wanted done and now they set and have no one to blame, for this.

we can blame ourselves God forbid and yes I mean God forbid.

WE have forgotten everything.
Reply:People just want someone to blame for their 'horrible' lives. It's stupid.
Reply:Yep. And still some people don't get the picture.
Reply:Nobody has time to read all that so I will summarize. The world was already going downhill since the end of the cold war. The fact is there was enough distraction before 9/11 like the Romans distracted their people with the Colisseum. Now we are out of that daze, but people don't understand that we lost our chance to make a difference already.
Reply:Who said it was totally safe before Bush? He has just done his part to enable and help terrorists recruit more terrorists, making the world even more unsafe than it already was.
Reply:Damn, what was the question again?
Reply:because america has idiot people in office

Help!!???I've got a problem with my macbook, I think it's totally screwed now.?

ok so it all started with me forgetting my administrative password. or whatever you call the password, you need to install new software.

but I think when I first got my macbook, I skipped all the password crap and so but I am not sure anymore..

well back to the problem. I haven't been able to install new software in a month now, which is really annoying because I can't access my hotmail account because there is a new safari update or I dunno...

I only found that out because I asked here. So someone told me that I should do the update thing, in order to regain access to my hotmail account. So I wanted to do it, but then it asked me for the my name and password and so on . and as I said , I couldn't remember creating a password or any other account.

So then today I was researching how I could change the password , and on this one site it said that I should put in my Mac OS X Install disc, and press the c key and blah blah. I did all of that and I even managed to change my password

Help!!???I've got a problem with my macbook, I think it's totally screwed now.?
yeah, i think it's screwed, too. You might have deleted some system files when you tried to reset the password using your Mac OS Install disc.

Try to repair your disk using the Mac OS Install disc. If that doesn't work, then reinstall a new OS.

My daughter is 10 and wants to live with her dad. What should I do?

He got a temporary ex parte with tons of lies.My husband and I had an arguement, ( first one in a long time) and she called the police. No charges, but she told her dad, and now they have falsely accused me of so many things!!!! Karma for them, I hope. I am a great mother, work at her school, and a model citizen. I have a college degree, and he dropped out of High School, and got kicked out of the military. I had her young and still managed all of my goals in life. She wants to live there b/c she is not told no, and is SPOILED! Grandparent's are Rich and live next door to them. Our lawyer said that I can fight them and win but it could take 6-8 months or longer and tens of thousands of dollars. In Mississippi, at 12 years a kids can decide where they want to live. Should I fight, or let her go???

My daughter is 10 and wants to live with her dad. What should I do?
If this is what she really wants to do, I would let her go. I would make sure ALL paperwork is in order. Including a statement that if the child changes her mind the father will allow her to return to you without a hassle and without a court order. IF he will agree to your terms, then I would let her go. IF he will not agree to the terms I would NOT let her go and then explain to the Judge why you were against her going to her father's. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you get it in WRITING AND HAVE IT NOTORIZED. Also in case your attorney has NOT informed you of this, a child in Mississippi at the age of 12 has a right to have a INPUT and state their choice on where they want to live, BUT a judge does not always go with that. They are not required too. The Judge has to consider the overall home the child will be living and if you can prove his home unstable/unfit, then it will not matter that your child wants to live there, the Judge will not allow it. But proving either of those is extremely hard to do. I live in Mississippi, and have been there. Good Luck.
Reply:That is a tough decision and one you should think hard about. Pros and cons. If it were me, as hard as it would be. I would let her go. See if you dont fight it and he would agree for her to go temporarily for say 3mo or 6mo. Maybe your daughter will then realize you cant buy love. She will miss you. Make sure you'll still get to see her. Hopefully they'll come to an agreement. Go on vacation, keep your mind busy. I'm so sorry this is happening to you. In the end, your daughter will realize what a wonderful mother you are, unfortunately that will take time.
Reply:As a mother, I understand your feeling completely. It's hard to let go of your child. It's true at her age, she can decide. Just be supportive to her. Don't talk bad about your ex to her, it's only making her angry toward you. Remember - she loves her dad, but she also loves you. Don't make her choose. Talk to your daughter and tell her that you love her. Tell her that you are here for her should she wants to come back to you.

Love is to let another person chooses what he/she wants -- not forcing him/her to be with you or follow you.

Read John 3:16 and you'll understand what love is all about.
Reply:The truth is the truth and it will all come out in court. You cant blame you daughter for going where she can always get her way and have all the goodies money can bring.I think you should fight and go fore as fat a child support/alimony as possible.win or lose this way when your daughter matures she will come to appreciate the effort you put forth.
Reply:You need to sit down and explain everything to her and let her make her own decision. At 10-12 years old a child can make their own decisions.
Reply:its the same situation with my brother in my family. my parents are divorced and have been since he wa about 3 or 4. my dad is very strick about what he can do and such things like that, my mother is not and lets him do whatever he wants (to an extent of course, nothing to get himself hurt or in trouble with the law) my father has tried for many years to try to get him to come live with him, he refuses. my brother tries to deny it but everyone sees it (even my parents). he says its because he will miss my mom too much but thats a bunch of BS the only reason that he wants to live with my mom is because he can do what he wants to.
Reply:If you decide not to fight it, you will find many days where your carrying around a big guilt bag. I know!! BUT if she's bound and determined that $$$$ is more importnat than your love and dicipline, then I'd have to say, let her go. She'll learn who lies and who really lost!!

Once a child makes up their mind, best off to let them go. It just causes more heart ache.

Try hard to not carry that guilt bag ok I did for years. It only caused me stress no one else.
Reply:My mom went through this with my brother. She let him move with my dad. He moved back within a year. Let her make the choice she may think that she will have more when she lives with her dad but may decide later that it isn't what she thought it would be. This way she gets to see for herself and she doesn't resent you for stopping her.

I received an offer of employment from Western Geco Ltd. How can I know if this is a scam or not?
The general rule of thumb with things like this, is that if you even need to ask if it could be a hoax - Its a Hoax! :-)

Follow that rule and you won't get caught out!
Reply:This question pops up now and again on here- it's just another phishing scam, I'm afraid. Don't give them any personal information.

As ghostgirl says, Western Geco is a real company- but it is not they who have contacted you. (The yahoo.com email adress rather than the company name.com is a giveaway.)
Reply:don't you mean WesternGeco Ltd? My mum works there so its a real company
Reply:well did you apply to them for a job?

if not then it's likely to be some sort of scam - like someone said if you need to ask then it probably is!

why not find a number for the company from 192.com/yell.com etc and speak to someone there about it just to set your mind at rest.
Reply:Easy :-

1) Did you apply for a Job with them ?

No = it's a scam

2) Could they have your contact details from a legitimate source (i.e. did you give them out to an Agency etc ?)

No = it's a scam

3) Is the 'Reply to' address @ the Company ?

(ie. "name@WesternGeco.co.uk (or @WesternGeco.com) ?

No = it's a scam ..

4) Did they ask for your CV ?

No = it's a scam

5) Have you attended an INTERVIEW with them ?

No = it's a scam

No sane Company offers Jobs to random people based on their email address - if they never even saw your CV and you never went for interview it's an obvious SCAM.

Sorry
Reply:I have had a quick look on the internet an found some interesting reading. From what I can find it does look like a scam. They say that they are offering you employment but to process your "documents" and legal immigration paperwork etc then they will require a fee of something like £900. It also seems that alot of the email address used are fakes. Have a look at some of the comments on the website links below. Alternatively type "Western Geco Ltd" into google and you will see for yourself. Good luck but I would be very cautious.
Reply:Did you apply or interview for the job? If not, then it probably is a scam. Nobody hires you without an interview unless you applied through a temporary service. Could they have had the wrong phone number maybe?
