If you were my parent, would you make this deal with me?

My mother is always going on at me for being an underachiever at school. She wants me to stick in at all my subjects so I have the option to go on to university.





I don't see the point. I already make half her wage receiving royalties for shareware I have already written. This time next year, I'll have more stuff out there and estimate I will be on more than she earns.





I don't feel I need to go to college for 3 years when I can buy books, learn the bits I need to know, not learn the bits I don't need to know, and make enough money for a nice townhouse by the coast just for spending a few hours a day on my backside in front of my computer.





So, I am thinking of offering to make this deal with her:


- I stick in at everything


- I come top of the class in at least one subject


- I get at least two thirds of my grades as A, with nothing below C (except sport)





If I manage:


- I can wear makeup on a weekend


- I can have my belly pierced





If you were my mom, would you deal?

Maybe depending on your age the makeup thing but the belly piercing NO I don't want my daughter doing that! When she is older that is her choice but till then NO!


You should still just keep doing good in school she just wants whats best for you and you shouldn't try to con your way out of it!

Cause you may not be able to lay on your back forever if you know what I mean... Brain smarts is what we all need in this world... Go to college and prepare for your future..At least you will have something to fall back on just in case you get tired of laying on your back in front of the computer..

Reply:no i would not because your education is first and your mom just wants to make sure that you can take care of yourself when she can't. This is not a game honey its real life. so do the work so you can stay on top of the business.
Reply:No. No belly piercings. You really need to apply yourself to your schoolwork. While it may not help you now, you never know what the future holds. You can still pursue your goals and your work that you are now doing and go to school at the same time. Good Luck.
