Would Windows Vista Ultimate Ed work satisfactorily on Athlon 64 2800+/2GB DDR400/SATA I/AGP 8x sys? c details

(ASUS KV8-X motherboard) Would I b able to use Vista somewhat comfortably (with Aero enabled) for multi-task scenarios like 1 - [TV(TV-card)/Play music, Surf with many tabs, Type word doc, view PDF, (burn DVD / Copy file(s) from (any type of) network)], 2 - [TV/music, Not-too-intensive photoshop editing], 3 - [Watch a DVD (w/o TV-out), P2P Download (%26amp; Maybe copy file from a network as well)], 4 - [TV/Music, Compile something using Visual Studio/Java/etc, download something].

-----------------------------------

Even if some tasks might take a little more longer than usual, my q is will it smoothly manage these tasks concurrently or will it be somewhat noticeably sluggish?

I don't believe AMD ever made an A64 2800 processor...you might want to double check that. As for RAM, 2GB will suffice. 2GB will be the minimum for Vista; extra is always preferred though. AGP may be a dying interface, but there are still new cards made for it. ATI is releasing an AGP version of its X1950Pro. That particular card will handle Aero Glass just fine, but when you open a game, you'd notice slowdown since Aero Glass does not disable when 3D applications are running. So, your setup now (assuming you have a video card as fast as or close to the speed of the X1950Pro) will do anything in Vista that you need to, minus playing games at a confortable FPS. Your current system would work perfect as a temporary setup, but I'd recommend an upgrade in the near future.
Reply:You might want a faster processer and to get PCI-Express instead of AGP as AGP is of a dieing breed. The 2gb is necessary for comfort(probally want more in a few years).
Reply:To run Aero graphics you need a video card that supports DirectX 9 and has min 128 Mb for true performance with it. The processor speed and memory will sustain vista.
